Here are a few of our favorite things to keep in mind that take place in New Orleans in January…January 1st – Every year, the Sugarbowl takes place in the Superdome on New Years Day.January 6th – Every year, marks the beginning of Carnival; the official start of Mardi Gras. Also on January 6th, the Phunny Phorty Phellows meet at the Willow Street Streetcar Barn where they hop on a streetcar with the Storyville Stompers and ride the line to Canal Street; celebrating with music & cocktails along the way.King Cakes are officially in season – you can find a wide variety of types & flavors; don’t try just one and keep an eye out for theLocals change out their holiday decor for Mardi Gras decor; have your camera out – especially at night.THIS YEAR !!
