The season of giving is upon us and we thought we would share a few of our favorite local gifts & gift shops in New Orleans. ~clndstnFor Them:A subscription to Garden & Gun Magazine – this magazine is a stunner. It actually covers all of the South so we’re cheating a little bit on this one, but we’ve given a subscription to everyone in our family who lives in the South. They’re photos are beautiful and every issue we read we learn at least one if not many new things about Louisiana culture and the south in general.[slickr-flickr tag=”Garden and Gun” id=”87468926@N05″]Booze from Martin Wine Cellar! – Martin’s has a great wine selection as well as a variety of gift baskets at various price levels. Go during lunch or dinner time and you can enjoy a scrumptious meal while getting some of your shopping done. For Him:Anything from Aidan Gill – it’s rare that I wish I was of the opposite sex, but when I make a trip to Aidan Gill, I only wish I was manly enough to get a straight-edge shave and a shot of Jameson. They’re metrosexual products selection include shampoo, soap, cologne, wallets, briefcases, and cuff links to name a few.[slickr-flickr tag=”Aiden” id=”87468926@N05″]For Her:I Love GoGo – I’ve said it here before, but it bears repeating… Gogo’s jewelry is soooo cool. Cuffs, belt buckles, cuff links, earrings, necklaces. And the men’s stuff is just as gorgeous, if not more. The little area that Aidan Gill & Gogo’s shops are located on lower Magazine are definitely worth checking out.[slickr-flickr tag=”Gogo” id=”87468926@N05″]For Kids:Penny the Mallow – have you been in Velvet lately? The little coffee shop across from Whole Foods on Magazine? Well, they’ve got these fantastic little cards hand drawn by Bella Muro. The cards are $4, I believe, and they’d be great in a frame on a wall. Cheap & adorable!![slickr-flickr tag=”Penny” id=”87468926@N05″]]]
