Speakeasy, December 2012We’re currently working on an event for an organization coming to town for a business conference that is one of our favorite corporate events to pull together, to date. The client contacted us because they’re coming to town for a large conference at the convention center and they want to host a small evening mixer that allows them to entertain clients and vendors in a more social, casual setting. They indicated an interest in showcasing the great local food, music, & drink we have here. Our options for them started with a variety of venues – from rustic to polished.  Each venue we pitched  is a lesser known spot that is generally speaking “under the radar”.Based on their request, we pulled together our concept for a Taste of New Orleans which will include a variety of local beers & craft cocktails along with a tasting menus of traditional local dishes accompanied by a great jazz trio. Additionally, we’ve got a brewmaster coming to speak a bit about their beer, a mixologist who will talk about the history of the specialty cocktails they prepare, and a fantastic chef that was recently featured on Top Chef’s Padma’s Picks who will talk our guests through the origins & history of each plate they serve. The venue we selected is a small private ballroom with a chef’s kitchen – it’s exclusive locale & proximity to downtown were key factors. Due to timing, our decor will lean toward a classy & elegant Mardi Gras theme without being over the top or kitschy. We can’t wait for this event to take place – we’ll be sure to post pictures!]]
