This past May, we were the incredibly lucky planning team to get the opportunity to pull together an intimate wedding ceremony for Olivia & Bill. Olivia was a dream bride to work with. She had a vision and knew what she wanted, but she was also so sweet and respectful. We have to admit, she was so lovely to work with that we were sad when the day ended!Flower GirlThe wedding ceremony itself was at The Hermann-Grima House in the French Quarter; a venue we’ve been dying to work with. It’s just beautiful – you can’t even tell that you’re 12 steps away from the chaos of Bourbon Street. We worked with Destiny at Poppy & Mint who helped us hang gorgeous tulle from the balcony to delineate the space and give it a little more of a formal ceremony vibe. Olivia’s needs were simple – a blue hydrangea bridal bouquet, with a similar wand for the flower girl and a lovely boutonniere with a bit of hydrangea and a feather for Bill. It all looked so incredibly romantic! We followed the ceremony with a private brunch in Broussard’s which has a gate that attaches right to the back of The Hermann-Grima. The food and drink was fantastic and the day was coupled with live entertainment by our favorite cellist, Monica McIntyre. The cake was very important to our bride, who at one time had considered becoming a baker, herself – she chose Bittersweet Confections after numerous tastings and everyone seemed very happy with that choice.Mother of the BrideAnd of course, all our photography is courtesy of Sam @ Eau Claire Photography. ]]
