When two New Yorkers decided to tie the knot in New Orleans, the city where their relationship bloomed, we knew they needed the quintessential NOLA fairytale wedding. Not only did it need to honor their personal New Orleans story, but it needed to reflect the couple’s vibrant energy and undeniable chemistry. We also wanted to represent the individual personalities of both Lucy, with her sweet and gentle spirit, and Seth, with his strong go-getter attitude.
The day started at the luxurious Omni Royal Orleans Hotel, where our bride had her hair and makeup done and our groom, with his infamous affinity for colorful socks, pre-gamed with his groomsmen and distributed handpicked socks to each of them. Then we were on our way to one of our favorite nontraditional wedding venues, Preservation Hall, a spot with a history as magical as the couple’s. Lucy and Seth intimately exchanged vows surrounded by family, friends and some of the city’s most famed walls. After the quaint ceremony, Lucy and Seth took to the streets in a second line celebration led by the world-renowned Preservation Hall Brass Band. July’s sweltering heat in New Orleans evening was no match for our bride, groom and their guests who soulfully made their way down Royal Street to Antoine’s with personalized umbrellas and handkerchiefs in hand.
After a quick wedding dress change for Lucy and a sock change for Seth, it was time for the elegant wedding reception to begin. The newlyweds and their party were treated to an opulent French-Creole feast at New Orleans’ oldest restaurant before moving to the dance floor where our bride’s years of ballet training paid off, as she boogied all night long with her husband and their closest family and friends.
